Musings: Chromebook
I own a Chromebook. I still found this funny:
Yes, it has some severe limitations. But I use it to do anything I’d normally do with a browser. Which is almost everything any more. There’s very few applications I do on a regular basis where I’m not on the ‘Net to do it.
Even got over the whole 16GB of storage space “limitation.” (This from a man who currently has about 8TB of data amongst four computers in his house. My data storage is expanding almost as fast as my ass.) With some very clever software I can access all 8TB of that content from nearly anywhere in the world . . . as long as that place in the world has an Internet connection.
Used to be everyone had “terminals” connected to a mainframe. We’re going back in that direction.
